I like to look at this pregnancy site online.  They have neat articles and when you comment, the editor emails you back.  It’s nice.  I have noticed that in their “pregnancy week by week” section that they always have what they call “Twin Tips.”  It’s always a tip or indicator for a woman carrying twins and I’ve always wondered what it would be like to carry twins.  I personally think it would be amazing.  Not that I need another high-risk pregnancy or anything, I just think it would be a wonderful feeling.  Now, taking care of 2 infants?  Feeding, changing, getting them to sleep!?  That’s a different story.  I think women are specially equipped to have twins.  Or what about the lady from Canada that just gave birth to identical quadruplets.  I hope she’s a praying woman.

I told you earlier in the week that there are a few who are wishing twins on me.  I’m not sure if I’m one of those “equipped” women, though.  In fact, just today over lunch, two of my friends said, “Oh Lord” when the thought of twins arose in our conversation.  No kidding, those were the exact words.  I don’t think it was a compliment, either.  (Thanks you two.)

I got the results of my hcg level back today and it has gone from 59 to 3,200 mlU/ml in 8 days.  They say it usually doubles every 36-48 hours, so this is higher than I was expecting.  The first thing I asked the doctor was, “Do you think there’s more than one!?”  (note:  that’s actually when the “Oh Lord” remark happened.)  The doc says anything can happen, but that she doesn’t have any reason to suspect twins since hcg levels can vary greatly.  I’ll find out for sure at my ultrasound appointment next Friday.

I’m just excited that the levels have gone up so much.  That’s a good sign that I’m very pregnant.  Whether it’s with one or two.  Oh Lord.

 P.S.- Sorry if the twin girls are a little scary.  Sometimes children are creepy.  Like in The Shining.  But the only other images of twins I could find were either the Bush twins, the Olsen Twins, or half-naked twins.  Or conjoined twins, and no one could enjoy those photos.
